	Daniela Hermelin, M.D. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Hermelin is Chief Medical Officer at ImpactLife and serves an Assistant Professor of Pathology at St. Louis University School of Medicine. Dr. Hermelin completed a residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology in 2019, followed by a fellowship in Transfusion Medicine at SSM Health St. Louis University Hospital. Before coming to ImpactLife, Dr. Hermelin was the Medical Director of Transfusion Services at SSM Health St. Louis University Hospital and SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. A passionate educator, Dr. Hermelin was the recipient of the AABB 2019 President’s Award recognizing her use of social media to share her knowledge in the fields of Blood Banking and Transfusion Medicine with students and fellow practitioners. Dr. Hermelin serves as the Social Media Editor for Transfusion Medicine Reviews as well as an Associate Editor of The Blood Bank Guy Essentials Podcast and Transfusion News. Additionally, Dr. Hermelin is an active member of numerous professional associations including the Association for the Advancement of Blood and Biotherapies (AABB), The American Society for Apheresis (ASFA). The College of American Pathologists (CAP), American Society for Clinical Pathology, and the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT).
	Dr. Ruchika Goel, Medical Director Dr. Goel earned her medical degree in All India Institute of Medical Sciences, the premier academic medical center in South East Asia and finished Pediatric residency in Pittsburgh. Her transfusion medicine training was at New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York. In addition to serving as ImpactLife’s Medical Director, Dr. Goel is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, Division of Hematology/Oncology at the Simmons Cancer Institute at Southern Illinois University’s School of Medicine and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Pathology, Division of Transfusion Medicine, School of Medicine at John Hopkins University. Dr. Goel is actively engaged in research in transfusion medicine, patient blood management and big data applications of Hematology and Transfusion Medicine. Dr. Goel has multiple accolades to her name including the AABB Fenwal Annual Transfusion Medicine Scholarship Award, Paul J Stranjford Young Investigator award by the American College of Laboratory Physician and Scientists and has also received international recognition with the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) 2016 Harold Gunsen fellowship award. Dr. Goel was also one of the 4 recipients internationally for the World Federation of Hemophilia clinical research grant.
	Louis Katz M.D., Emeritus Dr. Katz is a board-certified internist and infectious diseases specialist who trained at the University of Iowa. He is an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Internal Medicine at the Roy and Lucille Carver College of Medicine, former Chief Medical Officer at America’s Blood Centers in Washington, DC, an ABC past president, former board member and a past chair of its Scientific, Medical and Technical committee. His transfusion medicine career has been dominated by attention to transfusion transmitted infections. He has served multiple terms as the chair of the AABB Transfusion Transmitted Diseases committee and served on many AABB committees and working groups. Dr. Katz is on the Editorial Board of the journal Transfusion, has served on the FDA Blood Products Advisory Committee as a member, industry representative and chair, and is a current member of the HHS Advisory Committee on Blood and Tissue Safety and Availability. On his CV are more than sixty peer reviewed publications and book chapters. As a clinician Dr. Katz founded and directed a Ryan White funded comprehensive HIV/AIDS clinic in the Iowa/Illinois Quad Cities, and was an infectious diseases consultant and hospital epidemiologist at Genesis Medical Center until assuming his ABC responsibilities in 2012. He is the medical director of the Scott County Health Department and The Project of the Quad Cities, an organization providing both HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections services in a bistate area.
