Afterschool Program
Children participate in our afterschool program in the afternoon. There, we assist them with their homework, teach them two academic courses per week, learn the Bible together, and have fun.
Back to School Program
Many high school teenagers in our community frequently drop out of school due to unpaid tuition. Our Back to School Program hires these teenagers and through the partnership we have with schools in the area, we pay their tuition by installments. 70% of their monthly stipend goes toward tuition until it’s paid in full. While in this program, teenagers also have access to academic tutors who help them with their school work.
Summer Camp
Rigorous research has shown that there is substantial learning loss during summer breaks for children. Parents register their children for the summer camp program where they receive supplemental help in reading, writing, and Math to retain learning. They also participate in lots of fun activities such as netball, soccer, group games and many more.
Tutoring
Children are assigned a tutor to help them along their academic journey to ensure that they have a better chance of achieving their academic goals.
Impact Meals
Our children get one nutritious meal for four days per week at our afterschool program site. Children need these meals because frequent droughts and flooding cause hunger to be prevalent in many families in Malawi. Just as you know, an empty stomach and learning cannot compliment each other.
Girl Up Program
In our community, women and girls continue to suffer abuse, rejection, and belittlement, among other things. Boys are valued and resourced at the expense of girls which left many of them destitute and poor. This program helps girls stay in school by initiating girl empowerment conversations in the community, advocating for them to be in school, providing sanitary basic needs and school supplies to them.
